Today I spent the day in London being shown around the Mansion House by the Keeper of Walbrook Hall. This was followed by lunch with members of the Royal Society of St George.

In discussions over lunch it turned out that I was speaking to a mother whose daughter is getting married soon and the couple haven’t booked their Master of Ceremonies for the wedding breakfast. I explained that the Toastmaster fulfills a very important role at the wedding breakfast. Another guest at the at the table asked why is the wedding breakfast when it is eaten at either lunchtime or dinner time. I explained that it is so called because it is the first meal the bride and groom have together as husband and wife following the wedding ceremony.

Today I’m interviewing a bride and bridegroom who have engaged me as their toastmaster / MC for their forthcoming wedding in three weeks time at Shuttleworth House, Bedfordshire. I shall be discussing the running order for the day and the other arrangement they’ve made for the day so that everything slots into place for the wedding day.

I shall be asking them questions “like the bridegroom’s Best Man’s name and the bride’s father or representative’s name”.

I shall also ask than questions like “are they planning a traditional wedding breakfast or do they wish to break from tradition”. It is important t for me to know their wishes because it’s their day and their choice. I’m there to ensure that the occasion runs smoothly and how they went it to be. After all the weeding has taken several months plan and we want to ensure the day goes just how they’ve planned it.
